The Battle for Purple Mountain
OPEN CALL FOR CHILDRENS' STORIES & ART BY KIDS FOR KIDS
Here's What and How:
We have created TWO Open Calls for Submissions, one for art and one for stories. These open calls start now and will continue until we find what we're looking for.
FIRST CALL: Battle For Purple Mountain. This childrens' story is currently in progress. For this project we are seeking kids art to accompany the story. Here is the first paragraph of the first story we are considering to give you an idea of the theme for the content of art we are seeking:
"Not too long ago, when the world was flat, there rose a very tall, thin, and thorny red mountain on what used to be called the South Pole, and on what used to be called the North Pole, a large majestic blue mountain grew so tall it touched the acid clouds. The Equator was no more. It had evaporated and shriveled during the storm of hot white lights and violent winds, and the axis of the world was rotated from the north and the south to become the east and the west as the world flattened under the weight of the fallout from the storm. The land between the red and blue mountain had grown barren, gray and lifeless. No thing lived there any more as the oceans that had given life had long ago dried up and disappeared.
SECOND CALL: Seeking childrens' short story submissions by kids for kids. We will consider childrens' stories by teenagers and adults, but are primarily seeking stories by children and teenagers to publish with the childrens' art submitted to Art Show For Kids.
